Learn a way of relating that gets to the heart of what matters
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) features a simple and powerful practice of acknowledging the underlying life forces that motivate us all, which creates more connection and understanding in almost any situation. This five-week online program for therapists, coaches, and healers will give you the training and guided practice needed to firmly grasp and start using the fundamentals, and begin sharing them with clients.

What’s possible…
Those new to practicing Nonviolent Communication often report more ease with creating authentic connection, and empowerment in self-expression.
Course Overview (By Week)
01
NVC Model Overview
What is Nonviolent Communication? How does it differ from “regular” communication? In this lesson we’ll look at these questions, and begin to explore the relationships of language and worldviews to our daily lives and where we put our attention.
02
Needs and Values
At the heart of NVC, there is an invitation to make explicit (or bring awareness to) the implicit (or unconscious) forces that motivate people’s actions and choices. Initially it can be easier said than done. We’ll cover what these forces are, why they matter, and how to identify them.
03
Feelings and Empathy
If needs and values are at the heart of NVC, feelings and empathy are the lifeblood. This important aspect of being alive gives warmth and color to our experiences and connections. We will dive into the concept of feeling, and cover how we can embrace its energy and guidance for deepening our connections to ourselves and others.
04
Observations and Evaluations
How can we talk about events and situations in ways that are less triggering for others, and more likely to lead to a connective conversation? In this lesson, we will cover the life-changing skill of being able to distinguish our perceptions from the meanings we make of them.
05
Requests
This lesson covers the powerful art of asking for what we long for, while simultaneously loosening our attachment to the outcome.
